Courses offered by the UIAF :

  • Courses in Forensic Medicine are also proposed as part of the postgraduate teaching given to emergency doctors, ambulance men and women and magistrates of the "Ecole romande de la magistrature pénale".
  • Continuing education in legal medicine is provided to emergency doctors, ambulance men and women, magistrates of the "Ecole romande de la magistrature pénale", judges, custodial officers and prison staff and the clergy.

The main areas of research of the UIAF :

New protocols of computed tomography (CT) scanning and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are used to focus the autopsy on specific abnormalities, view injury patterns in 3 dimensions, detect occult disease or injury without dissection, and evaluate anatomic areas that are difficult to dissect.
